She cites her biggest influences as Bill Hicks, Richard Dawkins, Billy Bragg and Alice Miller.</p>
<p class="style1">Deveny&rsquo;s television work includes Network Seven&rsquo;s Tonight Live with Steve Vizard, Full Frontal, ABC TV&rsquo;s Good News Week, BackBerner and Q and A, Network 10&rsquo;s Rove Live, The Wedge and skitHOUSE and 7pm Project and Channel 31. She performs regularly on radio and television and was a popular fill in broadcaster on 774 ABC Melbourne.</p>
<p class="style1">Deveny has written for the Logie Awards, the Aria Music Awards and co-wrote the 2005 AFI Awards with Russell Crow. She famously took on Roman Catholic Cardinal George Pell at the Sydney Opera House in the Festival of Dangerous Ideas. Deveny is widely considered one of the most gifted, versatile and prolific writers in Australia. Her voice ranges from polemic to compassionate, stand up to sermon, joke writer to speech writer and from cultural terrorist to cultural therapist.</p>

She is a member of the Federal Government's working part on Dyslexia. <p class="style1">Deveny, along with Jane Caro and Leslie Cannold, is one of the co-founders of <a href="http://www.catherinedeveny.com/no-chicks-no-excuses/">No Chicks No Excuses</a>, a website dedicated to redress the lack of female voices in public life by providing a data base of women availible to speak, write, advise or consult on any subject.</p>
<p><span style="color: #262626;" lang="EN-US">Catherine's much anticipated novel The Happiness Show was released November 2012 and she is currently writing her memoir/manifesto Tantrum With Reality both published by Black Inc Books. She returnes as a headline performer for the <a href="http://www.atheistconvention.org.au/">2012 Global Atheist Convention</a>&nbsp;Gala Dinner.&nbsp;</p>

<p class="style1">Raised in Reservoir and currently living in The People&rsquo;s Republic Of Moreland she is the mother to three little boys aged 10, 11 and 15. She lives in an&nbsp;atheist kibbutz with her partner, gay husband, various housemates and sons.
