No Chicks No Excuses is the brainchild of Leslie Cannold, Jane Caro and Catherine Deveny, three women in public life who got tired of event organisers saying they couldn’t find good women speakers.
Deveny was originally inspired by the idea in October 2008 when she published a column Corporate Exclusion Or Why Sometimes I Wish I Were a Man.
I have always said that liiving in an all male household has made want to print a t-shirt that says, “Where have you looked?” When event organisers tell us they can’t find women speakers I always asked the same question, “Where have you looked?”
